Update

Lots of stuff happening recently thought it was time for an update.

First off, I am so psyched for a trip I have coming up very soon. Some of you already know but, in about a week I am off to Scandinavia for my first big filming project. I am spending two weeks over there travelling across Northern Norway and Sweden, following some of Sweden’s best paddlers. I am tagging along with friend and L5 coach, Dennis Newton as he is out there doing some coaching with the Swedish national freestyle team.

My aim for this trip is to gather as much footage as I can to hopefully put together a film of some sort when I get back. I am aiming to make it good enough to get into film festivals by the end of this year and possibly get it out on DVD. We’ll see how it goes first obviously but its good to have a plan!

With a project like this coming up I decided it was time to spend some money on more kit!! With two new cameras it was time to get all the other bits like extra batteries, a decent tripod and various other little bits.

I have invested in an “intervalometer” for my SLR. This is basically a fancy word for a time-lapse gadget! It is a little remote thing that plugs into the side of the SLR enabling you to set the camera to shoot at intervals. For instance, you can set it to 1 shot every 30secs. When you have a big load of images saved you put them through quicktime on the mac and voila, you have a stunning HD timelapse! I currently have it set up out of a bedroom window in my house ..

In other news, the weekend just gone, I was down at Wimbleball lake in Exmoor filming the Corporate Challenge 2010. This is my first returning customer! I filmed this event last year (click here for the video) and was asked to film it again this year. I am now in the process of editing this video so it will be up on here soon.

It looks like this is going to be a busy summer ahead, I have a few other filming things lined up as well as editing my own film when I get back from the Norway/Sweden trip.

Check back here soon for more updates
