The iPad is here!
I was very pleased this Christmas, Santa (with some funding from myself) got me the iPad.
There have been mixed reviews about it, saying either it is nothing more than a big iphone and others saying it will revolutionise the world!
I am somewhere in the middle. As an mac user, I was naturally very happy when apple brought out this device.
As a media student/practitioner, I can see a number of uses for it. At least, that is what i have told myself! I had a little dell net book, but decided that the iPad was the natural lightweight computing device for me. I was using the net book for note taking (occasionally!) emails, web browsing and some light blogging here and there – all of which apple claim the ipad is “the best” at. It is very good, I’ll give them that. It’s feels very natural to ‘hold the Internet’ in your hands.
I am only just discovering possibilities at the moment. Future uses – showing potential clients, tutors and friends, work I have done. Keeping up to date with the latest news, following peoples blogs all that sort of thing. And before you heathens say it.. Yes you can just do this all on a laptop or any other device.. But sod it. I think it’s really cool!
