A little bit of inspiration

A little bit of inspiration

Flight of the Frenchies

I saw this video as soon as it was available online. Sebastien Montaz-Rosset, adventure filmmaker and creator of this video, is a great inspiration to me. I really like the style of his filmmaking, balancing artistic cinematography with adventure film. For me, this ticks all the boxes. The film ‘I Believe I Can Fly’ has been selects/won a number of awards at various film festivals and the trailer alone has had over 2million views! Well done Seb.

All.I.Can

What can I say. This blew my mind. I’m not into skiing but this film looks incredible. I haven’t seen the full feature yet, but if the trailer is anything to go by, then I really need to…

Tipping Barrels

This film was suggested to me by Matt Pycroft, fellow adventure filmmaker. Matt is part of the crew going out to Greenland in late January. He showed me this and we both really liked the methods of story telling. A subtle yet engaging mixture of surf, lifestyle and environment, shown in a beautifully cinematic way.

‘Tipping Barrels’ is a unique combination of surfing and environmental journalism that follows surfers Arran and Reid Jackson on a trip into the heart of the Great Bear Rainforest, where they learn more about the region and the issues confronting it.

Greenland Time-Lapse Reel

By Murray Fredericks

The Greenland team have been doing some research and this is one video that caught our attention. I think I am right in saying that Alex spent some time with the creator of this stunning video, Murray Fredericks, on a previous expedition in Greenland.

Time-lapse is something that has interested me right from the moment I discovered how they work! Such a simple concept. Take a picture, then another, then another, the result is definitely worth the wait. I think the team are hoping on shooting some epic time lapses in Greenland this January. I think we have a motorised track going out, so moving time-lapses are entirely possible..

Open Government

I think the art of design goes hand in hand with filmmaking. It would be naive to think that there is no element of crossover. This is a video that caught my eye and stood out as just being really slick. I admire the simplicity and overall ‘slickness’ of this short animation.
